Avoid a Ticket: Helping You Out

If you want to avoid getting a ticket, read and obey the parking regulations—and keep the following things in mind when parking on campus.

Get registered. If you plan to park on campus at any time, you must register your vehicle at the Parking Office. Any ticket issued to an unregistered vehicle that is not paid within 30 days will be converted into a $63.50 traffic citation and sent to the District Justice.

Watch your meter. Keep track of how much time remains on your parking meter  Flashers are never valid at meters..

Find your lot. Park only in lots where your permit is valid. Refer to a parking map—available from the Parking Office—to find out which lots you are authorized to park in.

Display your permit. If you have a car, truck, or van, hang your permit from the interior rearview mirror, facing forward. If you have a motorcycle, affix your permit to the front or rear of the motorcycle, ensuring that it is clearly visible.   AVI Tags should be mounted on the upper center of the windshield, on the driver's side of the rearview mirror mounting post, below the tint strip..

Look for signs. Always check posted signs for restrictions.

Stay inside the lines. Always make sure your vehicle is parked inside—not on or over—the white lines designating a legal parking space.
